It Doesn't Happen Overnight

Since doing my two photo shoots, I've been getting a lot of questions from ladies on how I leaned out. Questions like, what I ate, how I trained and what I took supplement wise to get the leanest I have ever been. I've gone into some of that in previous posts, but what I haven't gone into is how long it actually took.

From start to finish it took me 20 weeks to get here...












I think this is what needs to be understood...the time that it will take to reach a goal.

We live in a world were people expect instant results. I can't tell you how many times I've had clients tell me their goal is to drop 20 (or more) pounds in a month. Some, don't even have 20 pounds to lose. My response is, if that is what you are looking for, I'm not the coach to get you there. Because I will tell you honestly, to get the results that you truly want, it takes time. Those 20 pounds probably didn't come on overnight, and they will not leave that way either.

Sure, anyone can show a person how to lose a bunch of weight quickly. But what happens AFTER that person loses that weight? Where do they go from there? And really, what did they lose? Water? Muscle? Fat?

My guess?

They probably lost water and muscle which in turn will gain back right away, and possibly more, when they stop their dieting or whatever program they are on.

That instant gratification of losing the weight you have been wanting to for "X" amount of days/weeks/months/years, is gone. Why? Because that weight came back in an "instant".

So when setting a goal, even if it's a performance goal, be realistic. Know that it is going to take time and yes, there will be bumps in the road and possible set backs. But continue to move forward. Because in the end, your results will be worth the time it took.
